Hermosa Beach Chevron Friendship Circle
Surf Camp
Surf camp for children and adults with special needs. You will learn about ocean safety, basic surf techniques, tricks, equipment, and the beach environment. Ages 7+.
Surf classes have a 1:1 teacher-to student ratio for safety and a lot of one-on-one attention. There will also be a teen volunteer paired with each student for socialization and extra safety.
BZ soft surfboard provided. All students receive a T-shirt, lycra surf shirt and three photos of themselves. You must be a swimmer to participate.
There is always an instructor on duty that is a Lifeguard and California Certificated Teacher. On site we will also have two professionals qualified to assist any and all children/ young adults with special needs.

Location: 10th street lifeguard tower, Hermosa Beach Pier
Fee: $159/$149 resident discount for 1 week class (length of class: 1.5 hours)
Classes run for five days (M-F).

10:45am to 12:15pm
Where to park and what to bring:
Parking is available on 11th street at the
meters or in the parking lot. Drop off is
available at 10th street and the Strand, but
someone must stay in the car.
Please show up in a swim suit and bring a towel,sweatshirt, sweatpants, slippers, water
and a snack. Wetsuits are advised if you get
cold easily and can be rented or purchased
at Dive N' Surf 310-372-8423.
